Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic must step up their trade and mutual investment, said Czech Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhanek, visiting Azerbaijan, at the joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Trend reports on September 30.

“We greatly appreciate our strategic partnership based on the 2015 joint statement,” Kulhanek added. “We wish to deepen our mutually beneficial cooperation. Azerbaijan is not only our main energy supplier.

“I think that as we come out of the COVID-19 pandemic, we can add a lot more to our bilateral relations,” said the Czech Foreign Minister. “We must work together to further intensify trade and investment between our two countries. In this area I see a lot of untapped potential. I am here in Baku with more than 17 Czech companies.

Kulhanek said these companies are well known for their innovative solutions.

Some companies work in the tourism, finance, banking, industry and manufacturing sectors, the Czech Foreign Minister added.

Kulhanek said there is vast potential for cooperation in the areas of water and waste management, renewable energy, agriculture and infrastructure.

“Our countries continue to develop their fruitful cooperation in the energy sector,” said the Czech Foreign Minister. the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan.
